Turning Points in Life…The Promises of God

It is now 3 weeks until we leave on our trip.  We have all the High Adventure songs and we know who is going.  This year’s theme started out for me as thinking about how my own life was affected by trips that I made with my youth group as a young person.  I came to grips with the idea that many of them individually and all of them together directed my life in a positive and spiritual way.  I am praying that this year’s trip, as well as others, will be a “Turning Point in Life” for us all. 

 A “Turning Point” is an experience and or learning that becomes a deep part of who we are as a creation of God.  God has promised to speak to us through his Holy Spirit and what he says to us, becomes a part of the way we think, what we believe and how we act.  I am hoping that we will all learn to look at the whole world and our whole life as an opportunity to serve God.  

 Two of the “Promises of God” cradled in the church are Baptism and Holy Communion.  In Baptism, God promises to always be with us and to guide our thoughts and actions.  In Holy Communion he reminds us that our sins are forgiven through the body and blood of Jesus.   This forgiveness frees us to be a new creation, loving and forgiving each other unconditionally for life (LYF)
