| Trip Description: The Hudson River, near its headwaters north of Albany, is a crystal clear, free flowing and powerful river. There are numerous long rapids on this 15 mile trip which courses through pristine forests and beneath sheer granite cliffs. Your trip begins with a safety briefing in Indian Lake near the Indian River, a major tributary of the Hudson. Water is released from Lake Abanakee and this provides an exciting, 3 mile Class III-IV run to the confluence of the Indian and Hudson Rivers. More than 12 miles of exciting whitewater still lies ahead, culminating in a a spectacular ride through the Narrows, Giveny's Rift and Greyhound Bus Stopper. After mid June, the Hudson features spirited, Class II-III rapids ideal for the whole family. a light snack and beverage are served on the river. Our rafting Center at the take-out point offers a delicious cookout after your trip, as well as a color slide or color print presentation of the day's rafting trip. |
